That Grace Girl - Level 3 Facial Review
Last month we had the absolute pleasure of meeting beauty guru Grace Day, otherwise known on Instagram as That Grace Girl, and experiencing her newest Level 3 facial—it was a DREAM.
Grace is a beauty editor and aesthetician based in Manchester and currently practises out of Doll Parts in Northern Quarter. After working as a beauty editor for seven years, Grace trained as an aesthetician and now combines her expertise to offer skincare coaching and personalised facials. We can’t recommend Grace and this Level 3 facial enough, our skin felt squeaky clean and we had that post-appointment glow for days.
What is the Level 3 Facial?
Grace started off with a double cleanse under steam, followed by an enzyme exfoliation to remove dead skin. She then did hyperdermabrasion and vacuum extractions which really helps with more stubborn texture and congestion, including blackheads and clogged pores.
After this she did high frequency which helps to stimulate the skin’s healing and repair processes so speeds up the healing process of breakouts.
Then she applied a hydrojelly mask—they’re algae-based and really hydrating because they force the moisture into your skin and prevent it from escaping. We chose the antioxidant one which is great for brightening skin and giving it a lovely glow!
Once this set, she did ice globe massage over the top, to soothe and reduce puffiness. Then we did an LED session with a combination of red and blue light to kill acne-causing bacteria, stimulate collagen production, and reduce inflammation.
She finished off with some oxygen therapy to brighten and hydrate your skin, then applied your finishing products (serums, moisturiser, and SPF).
Grace is also renowned for her personal shopping series, where she shares skincare advice and product recommendations. With her vast beauty knowledge, we couldn’t resist asking her to spill the tea and share a few of her beauty secrets. Stay tuned, because next month we'll be launching our new lifestyle newsletter, where you'll get the inside scoop on all of Grace’s tips and tricks!

What We’re Shopping
This month, we're all about jewellery! Adding a necklace, earrings, or bracelet to an outfit is such an easy way to elevate your look, whether you're a minimalist or a maximalist—adding a bit of pizzazz is always a great idea. We recently visited Aureli - Manchester’s permanent jewellery studio and got matching permanent bracelets with our bestie. Permanent Jewellery is a new concept that creates bespoke, made-to-measure jewellery pieces. Unlike traditional jewellery, permanent jewellery has no clasp; instead, the chain ends are welded together, giving it a seamless finish.
We both opted for a 14k gold-filled chain bracelet, complete with a beautiful coloured gem stone. You can choose from hundreds of connecting charms, gems, letters and more. It’s a lovely experience to share with friends or family - perfect for a hen do, a wedding gift, or a party. Permanent jewellery adds that extra special touch to any occasion.
We have a lovely discount code for our subscribers, use aureli10 for 10% off your order or appointment.
You can find Aureli at Suite 113, Phenix Salon Suites, 1 Deansgate, M31AZ
Where to Eat & Drink
It’s been a deliciously indulgent month for food! Some of our standout experiences include Hawksmoor, TAIKO by New Wave Ramen, and Six By Nico.
First up is TAIKO, a new dining concept and extension of our favourite ramen spot, New Wave Ramen. The team is turning up the heat with this one. The menu revolves around the fiery Szechuan chilli, featuring “Kara-shibi” (a blend of red peppers and numbing chili) Szechuan style bowls, where you can select your preferred spice level, from ‘Medium’ to the mind melting ‘Devil Level’. Accompanying the ramen are the delicious Milk Bread Sandos and Spicy Chicken Buns. Since going last week this fiery ramen has taken Manchester by storm and we can’t get enough of the sensation it gives. TAIKO is open now at Mackie Mayor so run, don’t walk.
Next up is Six By Nico, this was our first time experiencing the Six By Nico magic and it did not disappoint. We indulged in the 6 Course Tasting Menu with matching wines, and this particular menu was an exploration of the Greek Isles. For the two hours we were there, we forgot we were in the heart of Manchester. The Moussaka, Smoked Lamb Flank, and Chicken Gyros were standout dishes, but each course had its own unique story to tell.
Six By Nico is more than just a restaurant; it’s an immersive experience and story told through food. The staff and atmosphere make you feel as though nothing outside matters—just you, the food, the narrative. Whether you go for a date night, a girls' night, or any special occasion, Six By Nico promises a memorable evening. They release a new menu every six weeks, with ‘Guilty Pleasures’ and ‘Shanghai’ coming up next on the 12th August. You’re in for a night to remember!
What’s On
With the whirlwind of July, it felt like we lived five different lives! We’re guessing August will be just as packed. So, make the most of every moment gals—hibernation season will be here before we know it.
